A trail of beautiful giraffe sculptures will take Worcester by storm for 10 weeks in summer 2018.

Winding through the streets and public spaces, the decorated giraffes will be on show from the 9th July to the 15th September 2018.

St Richard’s Hospice and Wild in Art can’t wait to celebrate the artistic talents of Worcestershire and beyond. All segments of the creative community are encouraged to get involved – from established artists to those who are, as yet, undiscovered.

Art students, adults and children, community groups, painters, sculptors and artists working in all types of mediums – from metalwork and fine art to street art – are invited to take part.

We will work closely with the local arts and culture sectors so the event truly reflects Worcester’s cultural identity. We will make Worcester Stands Tall inclusive and participatory and we are really excited to invite all artists, whatever their level of experience, to help us stand tall for the county of Worcestershire in 2018.

The giraffe sculpture is a 3d canvas and therefore versatile – it will hold every conceivable medium of art – from fine art to graffiti, new media to mosaic and metalwork.

Get Involved

We are calling all artists, whether professional or amateur, individual or community group, to get involved and release their creativity on Worcester city. We are looking for artists to submit creative, inspiring and ‘make you smile’ designs for at least 25 giraffe sculptures that will form a trail across Worcester city in the summer of 2018.

Giraffe calves

Alongside the large giraffe sculptures, there will be an array of giraffe calves on display during the trail in city venues. The calves will be carefully crafted by creative students and teachers at Worcestershire schools. At the end of the trail, each calf will be returned to the school which decorated it, as a lasting memento.
