A trail of beautiful giraffe sculptures took Worcester by storm this summer.
Winding through the streets and public spaces, decorated giraffes were on show from the 9th July to the 16th September 2018.
St Richard’s Hospice and Wild in Art celebrated the artistic talents of Worcestershire and beyond on the Worcester Stands Tall public art trail. All segments of the creative community were encouraged to get involved – from established artists to those who are, as yet, undiscovered. The trail map was available as a paper version from Worcester Tourist Information Centre, St Richard’s Hospice city centre shops and the Worcester Stands Tall shop in Crowngate Shopping Centre, plus a downloadable PDF is available below and on the Worcester Stands Tall App (available via Google Play and iTunes).
Explorers could start and end anywhere, there is no correct order, we simply asked that they shared your photos with us on social media using #WorcStandsTall.
The trail consisted of:
- 30 Large Sculptures
- 27 Small Sculptures
- Within a 1 mile radius of Worcester City Centre
- Approx. 6 miles from Giraffe to Giraffe
- Approx. 16,500 steps on a pedometer
- Taking approx. 4 hours to complete
- The trail can easily be broken down into smaller chunks, should you need to
