An award-winning creative experience agency has stepped up to host an auction event with a difference.
This October, more than 28 colourful giraffe sculptures will tower into Hartlebury-based drp for the final event of Worcester Stands Tall.
Worcester Stands Tall is a major public art trail set to arrive in the city this July – and will see giraffe sculptures standing tall through the streets for 10 weeks.
Once the trail has ended, each sculpture will be auctioned in the impressive surroundings of drp to raise money for the St Richard’s Hospice Build 2020 Appeal.
Dale Parmenter, Chief Possibler at drp, said:
“This is such a fantastic fundraising event and a brilliant cause, we are very proud to be a part of it and look forward to having a lot of fun with the project.”
drp, which has won numerous industry awards, will also have a dedicated sculpture on the trail – alongside those backed by sponsors from across Worcestershire.
During the trail there will also be a display of 25 smaller giraffe calves, decorated by school children, on show in Crowngate Shopping Centre, Worcester. These sculptures will be returned to the schools which decorated them as a lasting memento.
Sara Matthews, Worcester Stands Tall Project Manager, said:
“We are delighted drp is involved as an Official Supplier with our project.
“It’s going to be great working with such an innovative agency and we’re excited to see what the partnership brings this year.
“We just know the auction event will be a night to remember and we’re looking forward to raising as much money as we can for the hospice’s Build 2020 Appeal.”
The Build 2020 Appeal is aiming to raise the final £1.4m needed to build a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire.
The total cost for expanding and redeveloping the existing building in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, is £5.3m. For more information about Build 2020 visit www.strichards.org.uk/build2020
