Name: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Location: Crowngate, Friary Walk, Broad Street Mall
Designed and decorated by: Christopher Whitehead Language College & Sixth Form, Worcester
The design has been created by Year 8 students aged 12 to 13 who are Grace Morton, Amber Hunter, Josie Ballard, Amy Addis, Amy Hall and Megan Reynolds.
The students have been inspired by the Mexican festival of ‘The Day of The Dead’. Celebrated in November, the people of Mexico remember the lives of loved ones and family members who have died with colourful parades held throughout towns and cities.
Students have decorated the giraffe as a skeleton in the Día de los Muertos style and adorned it with traditional symbols and patterns associated with the festival.
