Name: FUN AND HAPPINESS
Location: Crowngate, Friary Walk, by seating area
Designed and decorated by: Worcestershire County Council Children's Services
Inspired and created by Looked After Children from across Worcestershire, the recurring theme of bright and colourful designs inspired the title Fun and Happiness. Each individual patch on the giraffe has been designed by a different young person and brought together as a fun collaborative piece.
The Virtual School champions the needs of all Children in Care and is made up of a network of professionals both within the local authority and Babcock Prime. Their role is to work alongside schools and social care professionals to make sure that children can access the education they deserve and identify support needed for each child to achieve and make good or better progress.
They work closely with the Green Fingers Project allowing young people to reengage in education through an alternative curriculum approach. The project works exclusively with Looked After Children and adopted young people and their carers, helping and engaging children in artistic, horticultural and healthy lifestyle activities.
Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester have a special relationship through the creation and running of The Hive.
The Hive is one of Worcester’s iconic buildings. It is both a public and university library as well as history and customer centre. It is also a great place to meet and work.
