A global manufacturing company has backed a project set to bring graceful giraffe sculptures to Worcester.
Southco Manufacturing Ltd has signed-up to sponsor a sculpture in the Worcester Stands Tall art trail – which will take the city by storm for 10 weeks next summer.
The company has joined a growing list of organisations on board with the Wild in Art showcase, which will be brought to city by St Richard’s Hospice.
Suzanne Fitzmaurice, Compensation and Benefits Manager, Europe, at Southco Manufacturing Ltd, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be part of this very special initiative.
“It’s a wonderful and very different opportunity for us to give something back to the community by supporting St Richard’s Hospice and helping to promote Worcester city itself
through the wild in art creative trail.”
During the trail, at least 25 sculptures – beautifully decorated by artists will stand tall through the city’s streets and public spaces from 9th July to 16th September.
Following the trail, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise money for the specialist care provided to patients living with life-limiting illnesses, their families and the bereaved by St Richard’s.
Sara Matthews, Worcester Stands Tall Project Manager, said:
“We are delighted to have Southco on board with our project.
“We can’t wait to start thinking up fun, engaging ways to get the Southco team involved and ‘having a giraffe’ with Worcester Stands Tall.
“It’s fantastic to have such brilliant support from the local business community and we’re so looking forward to bringing our lovely giraffes to the city next year.”
Worcester Stands Tall is supported by presenting partners Worcestershire Ambassadors and Crowngate, education partner West Midland Safari Park and media partners Free Radio and Worcester News.
