A gritting and snow clearing business is the latest sponsor to sign-up and support a major giraffe-themed public art trail.
AA Salt Services Ltd, based in Himbleton, near Worcester, has joined the growing ranks of sponsors on board with Worcester Stands Tall.
Set to arrive in the city this July, Worcester Stands Tall will see at least 25, 8ft tall, decorated giraffes stand through the streets for 10 weeks – before being auctioned to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.
Alongside the large sculptures will be smaller giraffe calves decorated by school pupils and displayed in Worcester’s Crowngate Shopping Centre.
AA Salt Services Ltd has sponsored both a large and small giraffe and is donating its calf to Bowbrook House School to decorate.
Nikki Rogers, Managing Director at AA Salt Services Ltd, said:
“We are delighted to be able to support St Richard’s Hospice in this exciting project as we have watched it grow from its inception.
“Now to also be able to involve Bowbrook House after our children had such a wonderful time there, it’s a win-win for us all. We are looking forward to seeing our giraffe along the trail.”
Each large giraffe sculpture will eventually be auctioned to raise money for St Richard’s free care to patients living with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.
The calves will be returned to the schools which decorated them as a keepsake of its involvement with the project.
Sara Matthews, Worcester Stands Tall Project Manager, said:
“We’re delighted to have AA Salt Services Ltd on board with our exciting art trail.
“It’s great to have such a wide variety of businesses from across Worcestershire supporting the trail – and in turn St Richard’s Hospice.
“We’re now just months away from launching the trail and, with the support of sponsors like AA Salt Services Ltd, we know it’s going to be brilliant.”
Worcester Stands Tall is a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.
