Running hand-in-hand with the main Worcester Stands Tall trail is an education programme for schools and community groups in Worcestershire. It features small giraffe sculptures – called calves – which will be decorated by pupils and teachers.
This summer, each lovingly decorated giraffe calf will be put on show in clusters around Crowngate, Worcester, for the duration of the event. They will showcase the creativity of school pupils across the county, before being returned to the schools as a permanent legacy.
As a part of the programme, each participating school received a sculpture accompanied by a full curriculum-linked Education Resource Pack – putting creativity at the heart of a programme of study designed to complement key stage specific teaching of numerous subjects including English, Citizenship & PHSE, ICT, Geography, History and Biology.
The Worcester Stands Tall schools’ programme is generously supported by Education Sponsor, West Midland Safari Park.
