The Council has a staff of more than 2,500 (full time equivalents) and with partner organisations, including the University of Worcester, works to make Worcestershire a great place to live, work and invest.
Over the past decade, the number of students choosing to study at the University of Worcester has more than tripled to a community of over 10,000 students and 1,000 staff members, drawn from over 60 countries and a wide variety of disciplines, including nursing and health, teacher training and education, biological science, business, arts, humanities, psychology, law, sports science, management and more.
Our graduates are among the most employable in the UK. Our many innovative facilities include The University of Worcester Arena, the UK’s first indoor sports arena purpose designed to include the wheelchair athlete and The Hive, Europe’s first University and Public Library.
Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester have a special relationship through the creation and running of The Hive. The Hive is one of Worcester’s iconic buildings. It is both a public and university library as well as history and customer centre and is also a great place to meet and work.
