A new travel agency is set to embark on a giraffe-themed journey, after signing-up to sponsor the Worcester Stands Tall art trail.
The recently-opened arrangeMY escape – based in Mealcheapen Street, Worcester, has sponsored a giraffe sculpture for the 10-week trail set to arrive in July 2018.
The agency joins a large group of sponsors on board with the project – which will see at least 25, imaginatively decorated sculptures stand tall through the city.
Worcester Stands Tall is a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice – which will eventually auction the sculptures to raise funds for its free care to patients living with life limiting illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people.
Jennifer Lynch, General Manager of arrangeMY escape, said: “With the new agency opening in January, we are so excited to be part of Worcester Stands Tall.
“We cannot wait to see our beautifully-designed giraffe standing tall in our community for an organisation so close to our hearts.
“We are extremely proud to be part of the showcase and look forward to seeing the all the good it will bring to St Richard’s, while welcoming all the visitors it brings to our wonderful city.”
Every year, the team at arrangeMY – a multi-discipline agency which also organises events, accommodation and venues – pick a charity of their choice and this year it was St Richard’s that got the vote.
Simon Scott, Chief Executive Officer at arrangeMY, said: “The project has such a buzz that surrounds it and similar trails have had so much success in other large cities – it was only right that we got involved.”
Accompanying the large sculptures will be giraffe calves, decorated by school children, winding through Crowngate Shopping Centre.
Sara Matthews, Worcester Stands Tall Project Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to have arrangeMY escape on board with our project – especially at such an exciting time in its history.
“We’re already looking forward to getting the arrangeMY team involved and ‘having a giraffe’ with our art trail – it’s going to be great fun.
“And, as 2018 approaches, we’re getting ever-more excited to bring our art trail to the city in the summer.”
Worcester Stands Tall is supported by presenting partners Worcestershire Ambassadors and Crowngate Shopping Centre, education partner West Midland Safari Park and media partners Free Radio and Worcester News.
